Nave Barcelona
Fundició Sandoval i Martorell was originally built as a metal foundry in 1909 and used for various industrial purposes during its lifetime. With its vaulted ceilings and unique character it’s a significant piece of Barcelona’s industrial heritage.
Currently we are converting it into a cultural center dedicated to architecture and music.

Living Structures
The quality of being alive is not exclusive to organisms. Buildings and cities can also be alive. Most of modern architecture struggles to become alive, for various reasons. In worst cases it can even kill.
This issue might seem trivial or purely aesthetic. Yet it affects all of us in subconcious ways. Lack of holistic approach to architecture and planning makes us less healthy.
Organic Villa
The shift from hand drawing to Computer-Aided-Design in the past decades made architectural design and construction more efficient. Yet it’s questionable whether our built environments have gotten more beautiful as a result.
Drawing by hand involves a fluid, intuitive process. It is more natural to draw curves, details, imperfections. Traditional construction methods are also more intuitive, responding to the conditions on-site. By contrast, CAD and modern construction allow for precision and incentivize mechanic repetition.
Generative technologies have the potential to help us reintroduce some of these lost sensibilities in new ways.
